Brooke & Chris: Smoky Hollow Studio

Brooke and Chris chose Smoky Hollow Studio as their wedding venue. With concrete floors and exposed beams it is unlike many other event spaces. It was the perfect place for the self-proclaimed “non-pinterest” bride to have her wedding. Brooke is not a fan of white or things light and airy, and this industrial space was a great match for her vision. Her almost gothic color palette of deep reds, black, and gold added warmth and pizzazz to the feel of the event. We filled their long family-style tables with candles and used gold silverware and chargers to add some glam. Brooke’s family even built their own ceremony backdrop to keep with her theme.

Brooke and her girls wore robes in their wedding colors as they got ready in the upstairs loft

The bride and groom got ready separately and then had a first look in the library area of the loft.

The sight of Brooke brought tears to Chris’ eyes.

Brooke created a boudoir photo book for her new husband. What a thoughtful and sexy gift!

Let’s head down to the event space to look at the details!

One of Brooke’s aunts is a skilled cake maker and made a gorgeous (and delicious) ombre cake.

This slide box was the perfect choice for a seating assignments. It’s been in the family for a long time.

Both dads got together to set up the altar.

The venue comes with long family style seating.

And we set the tables with gold chargers, flatware, and candles. The tiles served as place cards.

Brooke and her dad look flawless as they walked down the aisle.

They went down the aisle to an original song Chris recorded on guitar.

And Chris’ smile says it all. I hope every groom smiles like this as he greets his bride.

Smoky Hollow has lots of great places to take photos both indoors and out.

I really love the contrast in different background for wedding party photos.

Industrial heaven.

Brooke and Chris enjoyed a first dance as husband and wife in front of their friends and family.

Then they thanked the guests for sharing their big day with them.

And Chris sang a song and played guitar for his new wife.

Chris danced with his mom.

Brooke danced with her dad.

And we had cake!

Brooke threw her bouquet.

Chris removed Brooke’s garter.

And tossed it to the single men.

This guy looks pretty thrilled to have caught it.

Here are our amazing photographers Kelsey and Kelly Balch.

And a few more shots of the moody candlelit room.

And a shot of our beauty taking a big bite of pizza!
