Paola & Don: Ruby Street Wedding Ceremony

Paola and Don’s wedding day was a mix of many styles. The Ruby Street in Highland Park was the perfect venue to house this eclectic celebration. We had hints of modern, vintage, DIY, and traditional Vietnamese culture. The party was completely them and completely kid-friendly because the couple has two young children and a lot of friends and family to party with. From the live band to the glowing light sabers this was a party to remember.

Paola arrived to the venue with their children, Pilot and Greyson and took the sweetest “getting ready” photos I’ve ever seen while Greyson took his nap.

I can’t believe her bouquets and floral crowns were DIY. I don’t always recommend that brides take on their own florals, but I loved how hers turned out!

The couple had a large wedding party and opted to have their girls select their own bridesmaid’s maxi dresses to fit their own style and keep it eclectic and semi-casual. Talk about a bridesmaids dress you’ll wear again!

Their last name is Ho and they selected the wedding hashtag #lovethemhos2018 how funny are they?

The groom’s brother served double duty as the best man and the officiant. You’d never know he didn’t do this for a living!

Instead of an outdoor ceremony, the couple chose to have the ceremony in front of the gorgeous stained glass window. I love how the vintage stained glass paired with the Vietnamese ceremony traditions they observed including the Cord (Lasso), Veil and Coins (Arras). These traditional elements allowed them to include extended family and respect their culture.
